LKAB collaborates with and supports compulsory and upper secondary schools as well as universities to ensure a skills supply through long-term, attractive training courses in the region.
Training and sector-critical key skills are provided primarily through collaboration with Luleå University of Technology. The Lappland Upper Secondary School offers training programmes in Kiruna and Gällivare, which can be studied with an LKAB profile.
The LKAB Academy
Through the LKAB Academy Foundation, LKAB supports pre-schools, compulsory schools and upper secondary schools in Malmfälten and Narvik. The purpose is to strengthen interest in technology and science among children and young people. To date, more than 100 school projects in the mining municipalities have received support.
Within the framework of LKAB Academy, it is possible for schools in Malmfälten to apply for funding for educational development projects and activities.
